Smokin' hot cow?

Where will you be on 7th of July?  Well I know where I'm going to be folks.  My fellow farmyard friends and I will be lining the streets to support the fantastically fit Olympic Torch Bearers as they make their way through Bishops Stortford carrying the Olympic Flame.  But exactly where is the question?  Well of course, I can't reveal my exact location just in case the paparazzi catch wind of it and won't leave me alone (I've had terrible trouble with them recently, they've been tapping my phone and allsorts!) but if you're the first to spot me you will have won a big sloppy kiss and an official photo with me, yes, that's right, with Silly Cow herself.    Now who could possibly resist that?  Keep your eyes peeled- who knows, I may moooooove about during the day!

Better not get too close, or I'll turn into roast beef!

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Now I know that there aren't any cows in the Wizard of Oz but I can't help but love that film.  Little Dorothy clicking her red shoes (I need to get me some of those beauties!) and setting off down the yellow brick road... ahhh, it takes me back to my childhood.
Hmmm, I wonder if they make them in cow sizes...
Which brings me back to the point of my moosings for today- the Rainbow Nursery in Stansted.  Now I've been taking Silly Calf to Spangles for some classes and she simply adores it, but I'm feeling the pressure of the celebrity lifestyle so I've been looking for some daycare options.  Rainbow seemed like the perfect option-just up the road from Lower Street, so very convenient.  And what's more, they'be asked me to appear at their family fun day on the 27th of May, which means I'll be able to meet mother yummy mummies too! Best get some bigger sunglasses for the school run though, it's never good to be papped before you've put your face on!

Anyway, if you spot me at the Rainbow Nursery Fun Day then come over for a chat and spare a few coins for my bucket!!

Better safe than sorry!!

Well I was moooost relieved to hear that the Air Ambulance helicopters have been cleared to fly again from 7am this morning.  With half of the UK’s fleet of 32 helicopters down yesterday, things weren’t looking good.  The Eurocopter EC 135 helicopters, used by the Air Ambulance in Scotland, Wales, North-West England and the Midlands, were temporarily withdrawn from service over concerns about possible cracks in the rotor hub, which were discovered during maintenance work.  Definitely a case of better safe than sorry I’d say- we wouldn’t want to put the fabulous Air Ambulance teams in danger.  I should have tried to sprout some wings and chipped in with the mountain rescues.  Well maybe not...my first aid skills aren’t really up to scratch.  Possibly in need of a refresher course...or two....or three.

Shopping ban...oops.

Matthew's taken possesion of my credit card- he said that Selfridges isn't any place for a Silly Cow like myself.  Granted I did knock over some perfume bottles, make a bit of a mess in the food hall and rip some skinny jeans whilst trying them on.  So, because I got chucked out before I had the chance to buy some new waders, Matty fashioned me this waterproof dress.  From bin bags.  Well recycled fashion is all the rage now don't you know!

Chatted up by a bird-it's not how it sounds!

Do you believe in love at first sight ... or should I fly past you again?
What's a cow like you doing in a place like this?
Did you get a parking ticket? Because you got fine written all over you

Now I know that fame comes with a price, but really?  Chatted up by a bird?! An actual bird, by the way, not a lady.  Peter the pigeon actually had the cheek to land on me and cheep these ridiculous chat up lines.  What happened to romance and chivalry, I ask you!

Caught on camera!

*drip drip drop, little April showers*

Well, what is with this weather? How's a girl meant to know how to dress when it's pouring one minute and sunny the next? After the wet wellie weather of this weekend, I'm happy to be basking in the sunshine this morning- I definitely need some big celeb sunglasses if this is going to carry on :) From drought and a hosepipe ban to flood warnings and power lines falling down, we don't know whether we're coming or going. And apparently, even though we've had tons of the wet stuff (rain, not milk), we're still in danger of a drought. Oh dear me, whatever next? I think I need to design my own clothes range especially for this weather. I've always fancied owning a clothes shop. Hmmm... we'll have to see about that one.

It's competition time folks!!

I'm going global guys!  I could even be bigger than Madonna, than Harry Potter, than Ryan Gosling...actually scrap that, ones ever bigger than Ryan.  But anyway, I had an epiphany over the weekend.  What do all famous people have made? You've got it, MERCHANDISE!  No, I'm not thinking small plastic doll of myself.  No, I'm not thinking a nude calendar (although I have been working out a lot recently and am looking trim if I do say so myself).  No, I'm thinking bumper stickers.

However, there was one small problem... I'm not very good at drawing (trust me, trying to pick up a paint brush with hooves is a nightmare).  So I'm offering one lucky individual the chance to be the designer of my new official Silly Cow bumper sticker! So if you're a creative creature then get designing, and send us your entry at sillycowstansted@gmail.com.

Don't forget to include the following information on your design:
  • Text SILLYCOW TO 70300 to donate £3 to Silly Cow Ltd.
  • 100% of all proceeds go to the Air Ambulance.
  • Just remember, don't be a silly cow and text whilst you're driving!

*THIS TEXT A DONATE NUMBER IS NOT YET LIVE, SO DON'T TEXT IT YET.  WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE'RE READY TO GO ON THAT ONE!*

The rest is down to you! Be clear, be creative and most of all have FUN! The winning entry will be my first official piece of merchandise.  I can't wait to see which one of you is the cleverest :)

Mooooosic at V Festival!!

I really can’t believe it- I’ve just heard through the moo mail that this August I will be going to my first ever mooooosic festival!! I’ve only ever been to country fetes before, and I have a feeling this might be a little different.  I’ll be spending two days keeping the lovely fundraisers at the Herts and Essex Air Ambulance company, helping them raise some dosh and rockin’ out to some amazing artists.  Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds, The Killers, Tinie Tempah, Snow Patrol, the list is endless.  I’ll have to brush up on my mooosic knowledge before then and hopefully I’ll get to have my picture taken with some of the bands too (although I’ll be so star struck!)  Matthew said if he’s coming as my chaperone, he’s going to have to take some earplugs-what a granddad!  Anyway, I just thought I’d share my excitement with my lovely followers, and if you happen to be at V, don’t be too shy to come along and say hello!  I should have my own personal Silly Cow Text-a-Donate by then too, so go on, dig deep.  As Tescos say, every little helps!

Well the diet's gone teats up!

Ohhh no. I've fallen off the wagon! With Matty giving out biscuits here there and everywhere at H@ME Interiors, I just can't help myself. I was being really good, didn't get tempted by the Chocolate Digestives, declined the offer of Hobnobs and even said no to the Garibaldis, but the Malted Milks were just too good to refuse. Look, they've even got a Silly Cow on them.
Silly Cow Biscuit
Perhaps I should ask them if I can be their official mascot? They're ever so yummy, and perfect for cows like myself. Ah well, back to the gym for me tomorrow...

Wonderful Wonderland Weekend for Silly Calf

Silly Calf was let out without her mummy on April 6th and 7th to visit the Alice in Wonderland Easter Tea Party at Knebworth Park with the Herts and Essex Air Ambulance. What warnings did I give her? Don't talk to strangers and DON'T eat too much cake. Did she listen? What do you think! She's a little greedy guts that one, munching her way through cupcakes and sandwiches before jumping onto the waltzers and sliding down the helter skelter!  She even met Alice, the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat. What a menace! The Herts and Essex Air Ambulance Team didn't seem to mind that she was a mischief though, and she certainly helped them raise some pennies at the Air Ambulance stand with her cute leprechaun hat. The children can't resist my Silly Calf.

Looking bonny at Knebworth

Market Day Ban for Silly Cow

On nonchelantely driving through Stortford on a Thursday morning, we spotted this little sign.

No cars with Silly Cows on the roof allowed in on market day? Isn't that just the council being cow-ist? Perhaps Silly Cow would be allowed to make an official appearance at some point to raise some cash for her fund. Here's hoping.

Birthday Treats at Great Chesterford

Silly Cow helped Katherine Maguire, manager of Chesterford Research Park and ultimate Silly Cow fan, celebrate her birthday! Thank you so much for your donations- they really helped us in our quest to raise funds for the Air Ambulance. You, lovely readers, can also help us on our way with just £1 of your hard earned cash and a few seconds of your precious time. Please text HELI25 to 70070 to make a £1 donation.

Mummy Silly Cow says "Happy Birthday Spangles!"

I know most of the stars hire a nanny to look after their babies while they swan around shopping and having facials, but I wanted to be more hands on with baby cow so that we bonded properly. Being a career girl and a new mum is not an easy task though, and I ended up spending some time on t'internet looking for fun activities that we could do together that fitted around my busy schedule. Thank goodness I stumbled across Spangles Surestart Centre just at the end of Lower Street, only a stones throw away from home! I can't believe I didn't know about Spangles earlier- what an amazing place for mums, dads and babies, with lots of stuff going on for free. I've booked myself onto a parenting course and am taking Baby Cow to the First Friends Baby Group on Mondays too. While I was there, Debra asked if I'd mind coming along to promote Spangles' 4th birthday, and I was more than happy to oblige. With Baby Cow in tow, I went along and we had a whale of a time- there was a DJ (I was introduced to Rizzle Kicks for the first time, which seems to be a favourite!) a children's entertainer and millions and millions of orange balloons. Baby Cow was in her element, playing with all of the children, and even giving some of them rides on her back. She's living up to her namesake, being a Silly Calf already!

Orange is my favourite colour

Do you like my new earrings?  I'm a trendsetter of the cow fashion world!

Silly Calf loved playing with Thomas and the children!

She ended up eating too much chocolate cake and having a tummy ache though. Chocolate isn't good for cows. She's living up to her namesake, being a Silly Calf already!

Silly Cow has friends in high places!

True friends are those who keep your feet on the ground while your head is in the clouds, and I'm lucky enough to have quite a few of them. Albert Alpaca and I have often been seen having an barney outside the H@ME Interiors shop, but I know that if push came to shove, he'd be there for me through thick and thin. But this fundraising malarkey has introduced me to so many people that I never thought I'd get the chance to meet. So I thought I'd share with you, lovely readers of my blog, some of the celebs I've crossed paths with on my travels!

Firstly, who likes Harry Potter? Well, I'm a massive fan, so I was completely star struck when I was taken on a visit to the house of no other than Rupert Grint, or more familiarly known as Ron Weasley. He was very friendly, and even let me have a quick snack in his garden before travelling home.
Afternoon tea at Ruperts
At home with the Weasleys...now where are those Every Flavour Beans?

My second brush with the rich and famous happened when Toyah Willcox happened to be walking down Lower Street in Stansted. Matthew thought it would be the perfect opportunity for me to do some networking, but I was too shy to moo at her. So I let him do the talking (he's good at that!), and he invited her over to meet me. She tried to milk me, but I wasn't having any of it-only professional farmers get to mess with my teets!  See the video clip below for coverage of our meeting.

She is a lovely lady though, the original female rocker and an inspiration to all us followers of girl power. I loved her on 'I'm a Celebrity'. Oooh, I wonder if Ant and Dec ever visit Stansted when they're not jetting off to the jungle. I'd certainly moo for their attention!

I think I'm going to buy a ticket for the Audley End Picnic Concert Weekend on August 3rd-5th- maybe I'll see if I can get a backstage pass to meet her again. It said in the Herts and Essex Observer that Jools Holland, Rick Astely and Aled Jones are going to be there too.  Contacts, contacts, contacts.  After all, it's not what you know, it's who you know!

Let's get mooooving!

Now, the close up of my face was lovely. The close up of my rear end however was disastrous! Why did they have to film me from that angle? Don't they know the camera puts on ten pounds. I'll bet it looked even worse on all of the HD tellies!

Since scrutinising myself on screen over the weekend, I decided that there was only one answer. Gym membership. No, this isn't going to be a Ross from Friends 'I pay for the gym but never go' moment. I'm determined to whip myself into shape before my next public appearance, so I took out a membership for the Challenge Fitness Centre in Stortford. I've signed up to Mooomba, Mooolates and Moooxercise already, so and my personal trainer has assured me that I'll be as svelte as Victoria Beckham in no time! Oh, the pressure! But, I suppose that's fame for you.

Silly Cow after her first Moomba Class-exhausted!

Maybe I could even do my own work out DVD. Silly Cow Moooves Her Booty-Now You Can Too.... hmmm now there's a thought. Let me know what you think in the comments box! Next stop, LA.

Silly Cow On The Box

I always though TV was glamorous.  Well I was wrong! There were no make up artists, no lights, and they had me up and down in that crane so much that I got vertigo.  Still, it was all for a good cause.  The lady from the Air Ambulance was really chuffed with what we'd been doing, and gave me a pat on the back as a thank you.  I got plenty of screen time too, and I must say that I looked particularly radiant in my close up. I even had some young fans cheering me on from their school bus.  It's going to take some getting used to, this fame business!

Click below to see my appearance on the evening news, and if you can spare a pound, text HELI25 to 70070!

It seems I even got on the morning bulletin on Daybreak.  Ooh, that Dan Lobb is lovely...maybe I can get on the sofa to meet him one morning...?

Boooootiful!

Oh my goodness, I am so nervous!! Matthew's just got a call from the ITV Anglia asking me to be on the telly later on today! I can't believe it, I just can't believe it, things are really starting to kick off here now!

Ok, breathe Silly Cow.  Deep breaths, calm yourself.  Matthew said he'd be there to take care of the talking, and all I had to do was stand in the background looking gorgeous.  He said I was looking a bit rough (doesn't he know I've just had a baby!) so he treated me to a pamper day at the lovely Vanity Fair across the road.  I had my nails done, had a haircut and a massage so now I'm good to go.
Getting my hair cut

Gorgeous!

Watch out for me this evening on ITV Anglia (hopefully looking my best :S)

Silly Cow Gets Around

So after rest and recuperation and adjusting to motherhood for the first time, I thought it was about time I got out and about, so I've been spending this week touring Stansted Mountfitchet, giving the locals a taste of my silly cow magic. I've got myself a text-a-donate number for the Air Ambulance fundraising, so by making public appearances, I'm hoping that people will get on their moooooobiles and give some pennies to the fund. I've been here there and everywhere on the top of Matthew's Landrover; it's a dream come true for me to see the world! I have to stand very still though, and Matthew makes sure he sticks to the speed limits-if he didn't, I'm sure I'd fall off!!

I got to see the church...

got petrol from the garage...

and went to the shops...

(although parking outside Tescos was an absolute nightmare!!)

So if you see me around, get your Moophone or MooBerry out and text-a-donate.  It's HELI25 to 70070 to donate £1, and it could save a life!!

Baby Cow Born By C-Section

I'm happy to inform you that mother and baby are doing very well thank you.  It's typical, I was eight months pregnant when I got in that crane, so not looking at my most trim, and then I have my pictures splashed all over the newspaper.  I'm surprised they didn't call me the "Fat Cow" instead of the "Silly Cow"!

The birth wasn't easy, but I had Matthew, Matty and Lloyd by my side for support.  In the end, baby cow was born by Caesarean section, and the anaesthetic was so good that I didn't feel a thing.  The boys took pictures of the birth so I could see them afterwards, so here's a sneak preview for you:

Looks scary doesn't it! I'm quite glad I couldn't see to be honest.  Apparently Matty almost fainted and Lloyd was sick a couple of times. That's men for you!

So baby cow has arrived, pictures to follow.  Hopefully she'll be happy to help me out with the fundraising- it's about time we got mooooooving now!
